KC and the Sunshine Band’s funky hit song from 1975

This funky song was a huge hit in 1975 and it became KC and the Sunshine Band’s second number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It is considered to be quite a risque song, with a lot of sexualised lyrics and ‘uh-huh’s! The sexual overtones certainly got us boogeying at discos and it is still a staple in nightclubs and at karaoke bars.

The track reached number twice during a one-month period. It topped the pop charts for one week and then was replaced by “Fly, Robin, Fly” by Silver Convention and then returned to number-one for one more week. It also topped the soul-singles chart.

Do you remembering singing along to KC & The Sunshine Band’s song “That’s The Way (I Like It)”?

Oh, that’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh
That’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh
That’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh
That’s the way, uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh
