Country singer has pop hit with this love song from 1978

Today in 1978, this song about unconditional love hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

A country singer, this was her first and only number one song in the pop chart. She went on to win the Sony of the Year at the Academy of Country Music awards as well as a Grammy award – the first for a Canadian artist.

This love ballad was later re-recorded as a duet with Shania Twain.

Boyzone, a UK boy band, found success with this track too, and hit number one in NZ and the UK.

Do you remember what this song is?
