1978 hit single from the Bee Gees’ younger brother, Andy Gibb

He was the younger brother of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees but Andy still grew to international prominence in the late 1970s. In fact, he had six singles reach the Top 10 on the US charts.

Interestingly, Andy was born in Manchester, England but at six months old, his family emigrated to Queensland and settled on Cribb Island near Brisbane; Andy did return to the United Kingdom in 1967.

Andy’s success was cut short, passing away at 30 years old, after battling drug addiction and depression for several years. Though this song in 1978, from his second studio album, has remained an all-time favourite from the decade. The song stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks and achieved platinum status.
