You won’t believe what Greg Norman got for his 60th birthday!

Once, years ago after a good day in a golf tournament, Australian pro golfer Greg Norman uttered the phrase that he was “in awe” of himself. Now, after a gift from his wife Kirsten Kutner on his 60th birthday, he can be in awe of himself every time he steps out into his garden.

His wife’s gift is a larger-than-life-sized bronze bust of Norman, shirtless and, it must be said, depicting a fine physique for a man of any age. To be fair, the ripped nature of the sculpture body is no lie, Greg Norman is indeed still a fit looking man.

The sculpture was made by US artist David Phelps, based on a plaster bandage body cast of Greg Norman, and is actually 1.7 times life-size.

The now US-based Greg Norman has amassed a fortune over his career, and is said to be worth in excess of $300 million. He was the number one golfer in the world for 331 weeks, and won more than 80 tournament worldwide, including two majors, the Open Championship in 1986 and 1993.

On his Instagram account he has expressed delight with the gift, and praise for the artist. But just as his golf career polarised the opinion of the public, so too has this gift, with some online commentary being less than flattering.

Still, he has the means, and if nothing else it’s a positive, loving opinion of him from his wife.

Tell us, do you think this is a tasteful birthday gift? Do you think it’s his own and his family’s personal business? No expense spared, how would you like yourself to be immortalised? Share your thoughts with us today…
