Trivia: Icons of “Vogue” all dead

Remember the 90s anthem by Madonna titled “Vogue”?  Remember the famous style icons of long before that she recited in the song’s words… well, as of this week, they’re all gone!

Slate magazine published an article this week bringing to our attention the entertaining fact that all of the style icons that were part of the song “Vogue” by Madonna, released in the 90s are now dead.  And when I heard that I had a moment… in fact I stopped the whole office and had a moment, reciting all the names to the tune as we nodded our way through the words of the top of the pops 1990 tune.

I know not many of you will have been huge Madonna fans, but what you might have enjoyed in the era is the pointy bra and high-fashion culture from many decades before that this song evoked.  It was pure entertainment!

The words of the song went:

The list of those now gone, and the dates of their death are now more poignant with the loss of Lauren Bacall this week,
