This would have to be the reunion of the decade

Filming has begun on the second series of the TV show Grace & Frankie, starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, who play two unlikely friends in their 70s who find themselves suddenly single after their husbands (played by Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen) announce they’re in love with each other and plan to get married.

The show, which airs on Netflix and is the brainchild of Friends creator Marta Kauffman, has been a tearaway hit, appealing not only to the Boomer generation, but to anyone who has ever found themselves in one of life’s great upheavals.

Grace & Frankie has just about everything you could want from a TV show, humour, warmth, staggeringly beautiful women with great chemistry.

But there’s one thing missing: Dolly Parton.

It is inconceivable that the producers of the show will not eventually write Dolly into the show, and the songstress has even said herself she is up for it.

While promoting a new TV movie in which she appears, Dolly said she is hoping to appear on the show as soon as her schedule permits.

“Of course, we’re girlfriends, and I want to be on it,” she was reported on Pop Sugar as saying.

“I told them whenever I get a little block of time, I’d love to be on the show. We always tried to find a project to do again together.”

Dolly says she is “real proud” of her friends and their new show but joked that it wouldn’t be quite like the 1980 hit movie in which they all starred, Nine to Five.

She said show would turn into “the good the bad and the ugly”

And instead of working Nine to Five, “it’s gonna be 95!”

Do you think it’s about time Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton were together again on our screens? Were you a fan of Nine to Five?
