The new cast of Celebrity Apprentice revealed…and there’s two over 60 faces

It’s a show that sees Aussie “celebrities” vie for the attention of Mark Bouris and it’s just been announced that two familiar over 60s faces will appear on this year’s Celebrity Apprentice: a disgraced billionaire and a former talk show host.

Yes, that’s right, tycoon Geoffrey Edelsten and his new wife Gabi Grecko will be on the show, though not alongside Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who is a host this year.

Joining the tabloid-loving couple is controversial radio DJ Mel Greig, Sophie Monk, Gina Liano (Real Housewives of Melbourne), Tim Dormer (Big Brother), Blake Garvey (The Bachelor), Esther Anderson, Miss Universe Australia Tegan Martin, Matt Cooper, TV presenter James Mathison and Hollywood gossip guru Richard Reid.

It’s a who’s-who of who’s that? and we can’t say if we’ll be tuning in just yet. What about you?

The reality series is a spin-off of the successful Donald Trump program, and involves Aussie celebrities participating in challenges to show their ability to make good business decisions. Mark Bouris, financial advisor, founder of Wizard Home Loans and chairman of financial advice and planning company Yellow Brick Road, will be the boss.

Kerri-Anne told News Corp, “This is the type and area of television that I haven’t done before so I’m looking forward to working with Mr Bouris on this show,’’ she said.

Celebrity Apprentice has a strong corporate structure at the heart of it, even though there’s lots of fun involved.

“People are probably not aware of my business activities. I’ve been on the board of two public companies. I’m on the board of Golf Australia and the Council of the Order of Australia, as well as being the CEO of my own business.

“When it comes to hiring and firing, I know you have to take it quite seriously”.

Celebrity Apprentice will air later in the year on Channel Nine.
