The Beatles finally coming to music streaming

Billboard is reporting today that the most loved band in history’s anthology of music is expected to arrive  streaming services on Christmas Eve, although the details are sketchy.

“While Billboard has received conflicting reports on the timing of the Fab Four’s arrival to streaming platforms, there’s a strong indication that fans will be able to hear “Hey Jude” on Thursday, Dec. 24.”

Billboards sources are suggesting that most streaming services will have access to the massive and very popular music collection that has been previously completely unavailable.  The key services, Spotfiy, Apple, Tidal, Deezer and Slacker have not commented about the expectation that has everyone else talking.

Reports are that most of the band’s albums will appear on services next week.

Being late tot he party hasn’t hurt The Beatles, with great anticipation each time of their turn to technology.  When The Beatles finally listed their tracks on iTunes Music they sold two million songs in the first week, having taken 6 years longer than most to get there.  Similarly in the era of CDS, they waited until 1987 to release their albums, but then waited 22 years to remaster their work.

When asked, a Spotify representative said the company “would not comment on that.” Rhapsody also refused to comment. Apple, Tidal, Deezer and Slacker did not immediately return a request for comment.

So now could be the time to download and start preparing your playlists in anticipation of the fact that they won’t be missing The Beatles this time next week.
