The self-confessed Material Girl has had a change of careers, if only for one night. Madonna made her comedy debut on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a couple of nights ago and the reviews have been mixed.

While she’s not really a singer of our generation, it’s been hard to ignore Madonna over the years as she has constantly appeared in the tabloids for her exploits.

The 56-year-old pop singer told Jimmy Fallon that she is “kind of a closet comedian” and then got up on stage to perform a comedy routine.

She was wearing a bit of a questionable outfit, sans pants, and delivered comedy for several minutes. Madonna talked about her art and dating younger men, which some have called tragic and some have said was a genius set of jokes.
