James Packer dating a hugely successful American popstar

Now this is something you don’t see every day – an Australian billionaire has hooked up with an American popstar.

Today everyone has been talking about James Packer and his blossoming relationship with multi-platinum singer Mariah Carey.

According to TMZ, Packer has been pursuing the well known singer for months and has taken her on his family yacht for a casual cruise on the Mediterranean.

Mariah Carey arrived in Italy yesterday and is said to be enjoying her time with the eligible bachelor.

The diva is enjoying the spoils of the 88-metre yacht with its glass bottom pool and jacuzzi.

Fairfax reports that the couple have been friends for years but reconnected thanks to filmmaker Brett Ratner, who is Packer’s business partner in the entertainment company RatPac Entertainment.

The son of Australian media mogul Kerry Packer, James divorced from his second wife Erica in 2013, and was seen with supermodel Miranda Kerr.
