Hilarious video puts pollies in ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie

After a tough weekend at the polls most Australians are exhausted and disappointed with the prospect of heading towards a hung parliament.

Thankfully, the ABC’s Insiders program has come to the rescue with hilarious little video merging the epic tale of The Lord of the Rings and our very own politicians.

The fake movie trailer pits Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten against each other as they battle it out in Middle Earth.

Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce, Greens leader Richard Di Natale and independent Senator Jacqui Lambie also make an appearences riding horses and spouting lines about their greatness.

Insiders host Barry Cassidy shared the video on his Facebook page over the weekend much to the delight of voters around the country who quickly sent it viral.

“This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen all election,” wrote one fan.

“Absolutely brilliant!” said another.

The pollies are seen rattling off their favourite lines from the election, with Mr Shorten talking about Medicare and Mr Turnbull saying you’d “have to believe in fairytales” to believe Labor’s lines.

The video is quite possibly the highlight of the election season so far and is by far the most interesting way of spreading the parties’ messages!
