Since their surprise engagement on Friday, Mariah Carey and James Packer have been all smiles. And why not? The world’s most popular female vocalist meets Aussie media millionaire; it’s a match made in heaven.

But what everyone was waiting for was to see The Ring. Estimated to be valued between $4 and $10 million, Mariah’s new bling was designed and created by a close friend of the singers, who told Vogue he spent two weeks working on it 12 hours a day.

The 35 carat rock far exceeds anything Mariah has received in her past two marriages, and any jewel James bestowed on the previous three women has has been engaged to.
