There’s a new queen in our fair commonwealth and her name is Lisa Wilkinson. The enigmatic host proved once again that she is at the top of her game after re-signing as co-host of the Today Show for her ninth year on the couch. At 56 years old she has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years due to her quick wit on live television and her ability to hold her own against her enthusiastic co-host Karl Stefanovic.

Lisa found fame at a young age, when at 21 she became the youngest editor in history of Dolly magazine. She went on to become editor of Ita Buttrose’s iconic magazine CLEO and turned it into the number one selling women’s lifestyle magazine per capita in the world – a feat most men and women in her position could only dream about.

Speaking about her return to the Today Show, Lisa said she couldn’t wait to get back to work for another year with her TV family.

“I’ve loved my sleep-ins over the last few weeks and having some great times with Pete and the kids, but I’m looking forward to getting back together with my Today Show family – Karl, the team and all our fabulous viewers,” she said.

“The summer holidays have been all about relaxing so, like the boys, I’ll probably have to shave my beard off too.”

Are you exited to see Lisa return to the Today Show? Who is your favourite morning TV host?

Thanks Leone. Very interesting. Not a good reason to dislike his wife though, as Judy has pointed out. Some people never cease to amaze me!

    • Leone O

I dislike both of them. Lisa used to be in a panel show of some kind and I didn’t like her manner then and her husband used to be down to earth and interesting but he has become more weird as he’s aged.

    • Lynda Lea

I find her to be just as rude and obnoxious as her bandana clad partner.

      • Ramage

Is she as rude and obnoxious as you Lynda or are you just practising

    • Glenys Howard

Lynda Lee, that is one thing in her favour!! Can’t wait until Lisa and Karl return.

    • Lynda Lea

Every book he writes has an anti English element, he pushes it always

      • Snowwhite

Lynda Lea perhaps you’d enjoy living in England?
And if you don’t like her husband don’t read his books. Simple really.

    • Hazel Slaughter

Yep i can not stand the man,and why should he want to change the flag,he is a kiwi,,i hate all this flag changeing thing all over the world, some dick comes along and i will change it,leave things alone,he is from iris backround it take it,im from welsh backround,i love the union jack,i love the Australian flag, leave it alone

    • Lynda Lea

Our fathers fought under that flag to defend it. How dare he even think of changing it. Did he go to war? Then bloody well back off.

      • Our fathers as you put it DID NOT fight under the present flag. They fought under the Red Ensign. The present flag didn’t come into use until 1954

    • Hazel Slaughter

Oh im so pleased there are people of the same mind as myself, its like people are brain washed,by this silly stuff, performing baboons first thing in the mornings, abc24 is the best

    • Hazel Slaughter

Lynda Lea you are right leave the flag alone,he might get a sock that hey some people, really do not agree with his ideas, or his political sentiment, bloody fool of a man

    • Ramage

A leftie Oh shock horror. Surely not. How low can she go. Next you will be telling us she is sleeping with him.

    • Marlene Ingrid Hughes

The Australian flag as it is, only came into being in about 1955 so therefore it was not the flag our armed forces fought under! It’s about time we stopped hanging on to Mummy’s apron strings and stood on our own feet! Other nationalities than the English, or British, built this country up! Gees! Give credit where credit is due for goodness sake! Have a damned good think! Even in my family there were Danish descendants here in Western Australia in the 1860s.

    • Snowwhite

Lynda Lea it’s better than being married to a right leaning Monarchist.
Each to his own I say.

  4. Deborah Waterworth

Agree with others. The show is rubbish, she is one of the most patronising females I have ever witnessed & Carl is embarrassingly childish.
Morning TV is utter rubbish…….. except for ABC News 24.
