Perfect poached egg in a mug

Poached eggs can be a little tricky to make and require a fair amount of practice to get just right. Not anymore! If you’re new to making poached eggs at home or just never seemed to master it,  there’s a great trick to making poached eggs in the microwave, and the only dirty dish you’ll have to clean is a mug.

  1. Wet the inside of a mug with a little bit of water.
  2. Crack and egg into the mug and add a drop of vinegar.
  3. Cover the mug with a wad of wet paper towel.
  4. Microwave for 45-90 seconds. (Microwave time depends on the power of your microwave and how you like your eggs. We found that 45 seconds got our egg just slightly runny in the middle.)

This trick will save so much time and washing up in the morning.

Give it a try and let us know how long you microwave yours for. Do you like your poached eggs runny or hard?
