Joe Hockey’s lavish $8 million mansion is now up for sale

The glamorous mansion is set to sell for a lucrative price.

If you’re in the market for a multi-million dollar mansion with colonial charm, stunning views and a glittering swimming pool, Joe Hockey has you covered. The former Federal Treasurer has put his Hunters Hill, Sydney, property on the market for a cool $8 million.

It comes as reports swirl he may be preparing to move to Washington DC for good, where he is currently serving as Australia’s ambassador to the United States.

Hockey and his wife, Melissa Babbage, purchased the lavish Lower North Shore property in 2004 for $3.5 million. Built in 1906, it features four bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as a large living area and a stunning sunroom.

In recent years, Hockey has sold off a number of properties, including his Canberra residence for $1,515,000 in 2016. Hockey came under scrutiny in 2014 when it was revealed he was claiming a $270-a-night taxpayer-funded traveling allowance to stay in the same Canberra residence, the majority of which was owned by his wife.

What do you think of the property? Is it worth $8 million?
