Diane Keaton has won millions of fans during an incredible acting career, but did you know the 71-year-old’s talents extended to property flipping?
Back in 2004 she bought a seaside mansion in Laguna Beach, California for a $7.5 million.
Just two years later, after living in and renovating the home, she sold it for a whopping $12.75 million.
Now, the spectacular home is up for sale again, and the world is getting a glimpse of the actress’ handiwork.
With views of the gorgeous Shaw’s Cove from almost every major room, Keaton’s former home was built and owned by the J. Roy Smith ranching family from 1928 up to when the actress bought it.
It consists of four bedrooms and six bathrooms, covering an impressive 4,158 square feet (386.29 square metres).
While the home retains its classic Mediterranean Revival style, Keaton’s renovations have been described as “glorious” by the selling agents.
They point to the master bedroom in particular, which Michael Johnson of Villa Real Estate says has been “updated with a nod to the heritage, but re-imagined and outfitted for today”.
There’s enough privacy to suit a Hollywood star, thanks to a wall on the street side of the home and a private set of stairs to the beach.
But what makes the property unusual is a feature that money can no longer buy; it still has a private ‘beach garage’ for kayaks and paddle boards, that, according to Johnson, is something residents are no longer permitted to add to beachfront homes in the area.
So, what does a home like this cost? Well, it’s certainly increased in value since Keaton sold it 11 years ago.
The home is on the market for a whopping $15,989,000 (AUD$21,393,282)!
