What p***es me off: The people who’re warriors behind a keyboard

In real life when somebody does the wrong thing by me, or something is giving me bad vibes, I will walk away from all the negativity. When the same things happen within the realms of social media I delete and block. I never make decisions like that without first putting a lot of thought into it. I don’t allow whatever happened to piss me off and I don’t hold grudges. I move on and the people that I have walked away from in real life or blocked and deleted in social media quickly become irrelevant to me thanks to my lousy memory.

Surprisingly, in real life it works because everybody knows life is too short to carry on arguments about who said what. In social media it doesn’t work that well with everybody because a keyboard is an amazing bit of gear; people can put their warrior disguises on and hide behind it, no matter how big or in some cases small minded they may be. I doubt they would have the intestinal fortitude to say what they say or make the accusations they do if they met their victim in a public place.

To me, there is no logic in arguing and fighting with people that I have never met and am never likely to meet. I may as well walk down to the waterfront and argue with a fish.

Keyboard warriors use to piss me off, but now I am actually grateful to the venom spitters as they have made me realise I needed to reconnect with the real world. Instead of looking at pictures of beautiful gardens online, I spend more time on making mine look beautiful. Instead of looking for a laugh online, I spend more time chatting with the real people that make me laugh.

I will continue to write for the people that enjoy a lighthearted spin on life, and if the warriors choose to follow, many thanks to you all for building my profile.
