‘My family’s life has been ruined by local government’

I cried.

I cried yesterday for the first time in many years.

I was looking at the woman that I was married to for many years. She has advanced dementia and I would take her for a walk every day if I could.

She bent over to pick up one of her cats, she loves them. Before I knew it she went down face first into the hard dirt. We tried to patch her up but soon realised it was an ambulance job. She was admitted to the hospital at Kingaroy that night. They sent her home next morning, way too early in my opinion.

My son Andrew took her into the local nurse next morning and she took one look at her and called an ambulance and sent her back to the Kingaroy hospital.

He came home and I cried because I realised I had failed to give her the care she needed.

She left home to live alone in Kingaroy many years ago because she got sick of the maliciousness and even death threats dished out by the council and the councillor’s friends and relatives. When she was looking after her blind 92-year-old Mum she asked the aged care assessment team (ACAT) for some respite and was refused. She got upset and the doctor had her thrown into a mental hospital.

She has been going downhill ever since.

I cried because I feel it was my fault that this happened. It was my fault because the people that did this to her were only getting at me because of the way I dealt with local governments. The price my family are paying for my mistake is ridiculous.

My wife was thrown into a lunatic asylum, my eldest son persecuted by the police and I have a property I can’t use because the local council won’t give us a decent access.

Barnaby Joyce (who shouldn’t be there) says move to the bush. I say, what a joke.

This is what people must accept if they keep voting for the people currently in government. Personally I don’t care if I don’t get to vote this year as the career politicians will make sure they all get back one way or another.

I personally know people that live on the coast and vote in regional shires to keep the numbers up, it helps the local councils and even the other two levels of government to stay in power.

I can prove all of this as I am a bit of a hoarder and I still have the correspondence from way back.

Good luck fellow Australians. Please wake up and think about who you vote for, for my sake and the sake of your families.
