Introducing… your new editor

Well hello there, Starts at Sixty community, it’s lovely to finally meet you properly!

Some of you may have already read some of my articles, and people have been very kind and welcoming, so thank you so much for all the good wishes. Yes, I’m the new editor of this fantastic website, and I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better, sharing with you my thoughts and stories, and helping the rest of the Starts at Sixty team bring you all the latest news, views, tips and funnies every day.

A daughter of baby boomers, I grew up in the UK but have lived in Australia for many years now – and I absolutely love it! The sunny climes of Brisbane have made my partner and me so happy – we have a great circle of friends, a lovely home, year-round sunshine and we’re surrounded by some of the happiest, friendliest people on earth… what more could anyone want?

I’ve got a long background in journalism, covering all sorts of areas, from news to travel, books to food, and even finance and philately (though the latter was quite a while ago!).

Anyone out there an animal lover? Animals are one of my big passions, and my partner and I foster dogs for the fantastic Queensland animal rescue charity Best Friends Rescue, so you’ll probably be hearing a lot about our little canine buddies – especially Roxy, the gorgeous border collie cross we have sharing our home at the moment. I’d love to hear all about your own animals, past and present, so feel free to write in with any stories about your furry (or feathered) friends.

I’m always interested in anything you want to share or ideas you may have, so please keep your comments, suggestions, tales and blogs coming – as has always been the case, we’ll endeavour to respond to any queries as quickly as we can, and we are eternally grateful for all your support.
