Have we stopped believing in God?

Oct 23, 2017

Just because we don’t go to church like we used to, have we stopped believing in God?

These are the big questions where you can have your say.  We’ll be addressing one each day. This is an open space for discussion about some very confronting debates in out society. How do you feel? What do you think?

For thousands of years religion has been one of the cornerstone structures on which society was built, yet the prevalence and popularity of religion is changing quickly and scandal after scandal in the church is making it hard for many to see them as a place of great respect.  Do you think that people no longer believe in God?

FOR.

Yes, for a lot of us God isn’t as relevant as when we were young and forced to go to church or middle aged and educating our kids about morals and using the Church for grounding. Many of us have seen terrible things and it’s hard to believe God still exists. If he does, he may not be listening to us any more.

AGAINST.

No, you can still have God in your heart if you don’t go to church. Belief doesn’t depend on a building or a service. Many people believe more strongly as we get older….but it’s not practical to get to church every Sunday. It doesn’t change how we feel.

How do you feel about your religion, and your sense of belief?

DEEPENING THE CONVERSATION.

As we consider each others stance on this, stop to think about those who do still go to Church and are passionate about their religion.   We hope we will hear commentary from all sides in this big issue discussion today.

What do you think? Have your say.
