Is marriage really that important anymore? 

Many marriages end in divorce, and plenty of other couples don’t see the point in marrying or marrying for a second time?

Marriage is an important building block of our community on which many traditions are based.  Without it another important institution will be gone and with it many traditions that underpin respect, growth and family conventions.

Marriage is just a piece of paper, and one that can cost couples both a lot of money to enter into and to exit from.  We don’t need to continue to encourage old style traditions of bonds til death in a modern society where we don’t always honour them anyway?
