This hilarious BBC video is for everyone who’s bored by royal babies

There are times in everyone’s life they get some news they don’t really care about. But what happens when it’s your job to deliver that news?

What happens when your job is a newsreader for a major news broadcaster and you have to deliver the news to the world?

One BBC Newsreader found it hard to disguise his lack of interest while reporting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby birth date news.

Simon McCoy was live on air talking about the announcement but he was clear he didn’t think it was news at all.

“Now, baring in mind that they announced that she was pregnant back in September and it was thought that she was around two or three months pregnant, I’m not sure how much news this really is,” Simon McCoy said. “But anyway, it’s April so clear your diaries, get the time booked off ’cause that’s what I’m doing.”

There’s been plenty of response to his reporting, with social media chatter all laughing about his comments.

Even the BBC News itself tweeted his quotes, saying he announced the royal baby due date in ‘his unique way’.

It’s not just the royals that this newsreader has shown his disinterest in. While reporting on surfing dogs he gave an audible sigh, and followed up with ‘that’s a shame, we’ve run out of pictures.”

Do you think his style of news reading add some humour to the news?
