Ten replaces food with fat

Apr 03, 2014

In an interesting move Channel Ten has decided to bump the finale of the ninth season of a popular weight loss show with a cooking show. It seems that ratings are floundering and advertisers are putting on the pressure….

The show is of course, The Biggest Loser and it will be replaced with Jamie Oliver’s new series Jamie & Jimmy’s Food Fight Club.

Channel Ten has not commented on when the finale will actually be screened.

Jamie Oliver’s new cooking show next week will feature indulgent foods such as “banana and Baileys” bread and butter pudding, steak and stout pie, an “Anglo-French toastie”, sausages and fishcakes.

So, just a bit of a change from the biggest loser…

Now in its ninth season, The Biggest Loser has failed to pull in high viewing figures and is struggling against more popular reality shows such as Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and Nine’s The Block.

The network is also at risk of having to pay “make-goods” to advertisers which are penalties for not delivering expected audiences.

Perhaps they are hoping food will rate better and sell more products than weight loss?

So what do you think about this change?

Will you be tuning in for Jamie Oliver’s new show or are you disappointed The Biggest Loser finale is being bumped?
