Sarah Ferguson gushes about ‘best looking’ Prince Andrew on his birthday

Her sweet birthday message did not go unnoticed!

They may be divorced, but it looks like there’s still plenty of love between Sarah Ferguson and her royal ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

The red-headed Duchess took to Instagram on Monday to post a loved-up tribute to her former hubby, calling him the “best looking” Duke of York. Fergie shared a black-and-white throwback photo of Andrew, proving that even exes can be friends.

“Happy birthday to the best man, father, friend….Prince Andrew. Feb 19…ooh the best looking,” she wrote.

Andrew, turned 58 on Monday. The sixth-in-line to the throne was married to Fergie for 10 years, before the pair separated in 1992. Although divorced, they’ve remained close and Ferguson still lives at Royal Lodge at Windsor.

The Duchess spoke out last year about her love for her ex, telling an Australian radio program The Kyle and Jackie O Show she didn’t think of them as a divorced couple.

When asked if they’d ever consider getting back together, she responded vaguely: “I always think ‘have we really?’ We’re divorced to each other right now. We’ve never really left each other.”

Kyle pressed her: “You’re still together sort of?”

“Yes,” she replied.

“I think the happily ever after…I’m actually writing a book about that too”.

The idea of the pair rekindling their loves appears to have captured the hearts of many royal fans around the world, too. After posting the throwback photo, comments flooded Fergie’s Instagram feed with many telling her to reunite with her prince.

“Remarry. Don’t allow anything to keep you away from each other. She LOVES you Andrew,” one fan wrote. “Yes … you both made such a beautiful couple … I really really hope you get back together,” said another.

While staying friends with your ex, let alone living in the same house as them, may sound like a nightmare for some, it seems Fergie and Andrew have found their happy place.

The Duchess’ gushing tribute wasn’t the only display of public love the prince received for his birthday. The Palace shared an intimate throwback photo of Andrew and his mother, the Queen, in a rare display of public affection.

The gorgeous black-and-white image showed the Queen holding her newborn son close, with her signature hair and string of pearls on full display.

“This photograph from @royal_collection_trust shows The Queen holding The Duke of York in March 1960. It was taken by British photographer Cecil Beaton when His Royal Highness was just a month old,” The Royal Family wrote on Instagram.

Have you ever remained friends with an ex? Could you imagine sharing a house with them?
