Queen Elizabeth makes new furry friends in Chichester

Queen Elizabeth was all smiles as she spent the day in Chichester, in the southern English county of West Sussex.

Dressed in her signature style of coat-dress and a matching hat, the 91-year old royal looked as elegant as always in pale pink pastel hues, accentuated with pearls, a diamond brooch, black gloves and a black handbag.

Her first visit was to a canine charity that assists those with disabilities to enjoy a greater independence through the provision of specially trained dogs.

The dogs are trained to do everyday tasks such as, opening doors, picking up dropped items and even unloading the washing machine, noted The Royal Family Instagram post.

The Queen made new furry friends, even receiving a posy from Yarna, an enthusiastic black Labrador.  

 

The Queen meets 12-week old Labrador puppy, Flint, during her visit to @caninepartnersuk. Canine Partners is a charity that assists those with disabilities to enjoy a greater independence and quality of life through the provision of specially trained dogs. The dogs are trained to do everyday tasks such as, opening doors, picking up dropped items and even unloading the washing machine!

As The Queen departs @caninepartnersuk, she received a lovely posy from Labrador Yarna (with a little help from her handler!) – thank you for the lovely ???? This year canine partners is celebrating 750 successful partnerships. With the help of assistance dogs many of those with disabilities enjoy greater independence and can get into education or employment. #dogsofinstagram

Next stop, was a visit to the Chichester Festival Theatre.

According to the Chichester Observer, a huge crowd turned out to see Her Majesty, who was treated to a 30-minute production by 70 members of the Chichester Festival Youth Theatre, as well as two songs from their production of the musical, Fiddler on the Roof.

 

Continuing the day in West Sussex, The Queen visited Chichester Festival Theatre and had the chance to meet Una the (puppet) elephant. ???? Una was made by Chichester Festival Youth Theatre (CYFT) for a production in 2015. CYFT put on a wonderful performance for HM today. CYFT is one of the largest youth theatre groups in the country and each week it gives over 800 young people the chance to get involved in drama.

The theatre is the largest regional youth theatre with over 800 members across Sussex.

Later in the day, the Queen met members of the adoring public, before being escorted to another theatre for lunch.
