Prince William chooses his kids over his motorbike

Prince William faces the dilemma that many of us do when we start a family.

Having a family is a massive responsibility that often results in parents sacrificing some of the things they love in order to take on all the extra responsibilities.

Even the royal family cannot escape these responsibilities with Prince William revealing he’s had to put his passion for motorbike riding on hold as he prepares to welcome his third child to his close-knit family.

Prince William discussed his love of motorcycles with triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, where Rea was presented with the MBE title.

Rea later told the Press Association that he and William chatted about their love of fast bikes, but revealed the prince’s dare devil days are behind him.

“I know he’s a bit of a motorcycle fan himself,” the racer said to the Press Association following the ceremony.

“We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now.” he said.

Prince William received his motorcycle license at age 19 and has had a passion for bikes for many years.

In 2003, he spoke to journalists about his love of riding and the sense of freedom that came with it.

“I don’t know what it is about bikes, but I’ve always had a passion for motorbikes ever since I was very small,” William said.

“I used to do a lot of go-karting when I was younger and then after that, I went on to quad bikes and eventually motorbikes.”

He added: “It does help being anonymous with my motorcycle helmet on because it does enable me to relax. But I just enjoy everything about motorbikes and the camaraderie that comes with it.”

Prince Harry also shares a motorcycle passion with his brother. The pair participated in a motorcycle rally across Africa in 2008 to raise money for charity.
