Pretty in pink! The Queen stuns at intimate dinner in fuchsia ballgown
It seems The Queen’s recent trip to London Fashion Week has put her in the mood for a spot of colour.
The Monarch dazzled guests at a private dinner party for Prince Karim Aga Khan IV at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, standing out from the crowd in a bright fuchsia dress with gold motifs.
The event, held in celebration of Prince Karim’s diamond jubilee as Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim Community, was a glitzy affair with dignitaries and royal family members, including The Duchess of Cornwall in attendance.
Fans of The Queen were quick to note she had swapped out her favourite black leather Launer handbag, which she is often pictured with, for a gold designer piece that matched with the gold on her dress.
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV–often called the Aga Khan –is a spiritual leader of the Ismaili branch of Shiite Islam. To celebrate his 60th anniversary the Prince opened a year-long jubilee in his honour on July 2017.
He is planning to travel to a number of countries to launch programs to alleviate poverty, provide financial housing and provide easy-access education. Other notable royals that attended the event included the Princess Anne and Prince Charles.
The Aga Khan’s daughter-in-law, Princess Salwa Aga also turned heads in a sleek silver number. The Duchess of Cornwall put her best foot forward in a floor-length, black-velvet gown. She accessorised the gown with a glittering diamond necklace and a pair of diamond drop earrings.
The Duchess of Cornwall looked to be in good spirits, perhaps due to a funny gaffe picked up on by her son that declared she was going to give birth to a child next month.
On Wednesday, Tom Parker Bowles couldn’t contain his shock when UK tabloid Metro tweeted a status reading: “The Duchess of Cornwall is due to give birth to her third child next month.”
The status obviously had a typo with the news organisation later clarifying they meant the “Duchess of Cambridge”, who is due to give birth in April—just before her brother-in-law’s royal wedding at Windsor Castle.
Tom, however, managed to see the funny side to a tweet and couldn’t help but rile up the paper and joked: “Dear God. Really?”
