Robert De Niro holds controversial anti-vaxxer event with Robert F. Kennedy Jr

Robert De Niro has taken a public stance against vaccinations.

He’s been outspoken against vaccinations in the past and now actor Robert De Niro has teamed up with Robert F. Kennedy Jr to launch an extraordinary program against the practice.

The two men are offering $100,000 to the first person who can provide them with scientific evidence that vaccines are safe.

Speaking to the crowd, Kennedy said there was overwhelming evidence the mercury found in vaccines is dangerous and that the scientific community has no proof to say otherwise.

The event was run by Kennedy’s World Mercury Project and showcased material linking vaccinations with autism in young children.

“On one hand, the government is telling pregnant women which mercury-laced fish to avoid so that they don’t harm their fetuses, and on the other, the CDC supports injecting mercury-containing vaccines into pregnant women, infants and children,” he said at the press conference on Wednesday.

“This defies all logic and common sense.”

A statement from the World Mercury Project says they will reward anyone “who can find a peer-reviewed scientific study demonstrating that thimerosal is safe in the amounts contained in vaccines currently being administered to American children and pregnant women.”

Last year, De Niro released a film titled, Vaxxed, showcasing the supposed link between vaccines and autism.

“I think the movie is something that people should see,” he said at the time. “There’s a lot of information about things that are happening with the CDC, the pharmaceutical companies, there’s a lot of things that are not said. I, as a parent of a child who has autism, I’m concerned. And I want to know the truth. I’m not anti-vaccine. I want safe vaccines.”

What do you think about this? Do you agree with the men? Or do we need vaccinations?
