Melania Trump defies critics on return to Texas

Melania Trump, pictured here at a Trump campaign rally in 2016, has boldly defied her critics.

Melania Trump sent a clear message to her critics on Saturday, jetting out to flood-ravaged Texas in a fitted trench coat and, yep, you guessed it – a pair of towering stilettos.

It comes just days after the first lady was mocked mercilessly around the world for boarding Air Force One to Houston in black cigarette pants, a bomber jacket and black high heels.

She was branded “Flood Watch Barbie” on social media and called “insensitive” for sporting such a fashionable outfit on her way to visit victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.

While the former model changed into sneakers, black pants and a crisp white shirt later, it didn’t stem the steady flow of criticism coming her way.

On Saturday, the first lady practically told the world where to stick it as she proudly marched onto the presidential helicopter to Texas in her stylish get up.

Once again, she changed her outfit before landing. This time sporting a denim shirt with black jeans, green sneakers and a cap emblazoned with the word ‘Texas’.

The first couple visited a Houston relief centre where they met with thousands of flood victims and helped hand out meals to the crowd.

They stopped by the kid’s zone at the city’s largest emergency centre and hugged and chatted with families.

The president has promised to get billions in relief funding through Congress as quickly as possible to help those affected by the hurricane start to rebuild their lives.

What do you think of Melania’s move? Do you think she was sending a message to her critics?
