There’s a meme travelling the Internet suggesting people time out the chorus of their favourite song, and set it to play the exact amount of time before midnight so the best bit is playing as the clock strikes midnight. And Phil Collins has come out with the ultimate timing tip for all of us.

The awesome and widely adored drummer revealed the timing trick to ringing in midnight on 31st December 2017, 1 January 2018 with the iconic drum break of his song “In the Air Tonight.”

“If you play ‘In The Air Tonight’ by Phil Collins on December 31st at 11:56:40 the drum break will play right as the clock strikes midnight,” he tweeted. “Start off your new year right.”

Of course, people loved his advice.  It has now attracted 321K likes and 144k retweets.

What song would you play as midnight strikes to put you in the mood of 2018?
