Michelle Obama’s heading for the small screen, and small co-stars

Michelle Obama is no stranger to television cooking shows.

America’s former first lady has already found a new gig now she’s moved out of the White House.

Michelle Obama will appear as a guest judge on chef Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef Junior television show, which starts its fifth season in the US next week.

The new job was revealed by the Los Angeles Times, which says Obama will be part of a group of guest judges, which includes homemaking guru Martha Stewart, who’ll fill the place left by judge Graham Elliot. The chef exited at the end of the fourth season.

AOL.com reminds readers it’s not Obama’s first time on a cooking program – she filmed an episode of Barefoot Contessa at the White House last year and in other TV cooking segments over her time as first lady.

Michelle and husband Barack Obama have been enjoying their time out of the limelight more recently, with the pair holidaying at billionaire Richard Branson’s private resort in the British Virgin Islands.

Photos from the vacation showed the couple looking relaxed, even as the former president waged battle against Branson in a water-sports challenge. And won.

What’s your favourite cooking show? Do you get inspiration for meals from them, or just enjoy the antics of the contestants and judges?
