Melrose Place star Heather Locklear hospitalised after car crash

Heather Locklear has appeared on hit series ranging from Dynasty to Spin City.

Melrose Place star Heather Locklear was hospitalised after driving her Porsche off the road and into a ditch, but has since let fans know that she’s okay.

The actress, 55, was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after receiving minor injuries in the accident, which involved her car going down an embankment.

It’s not known what caused the accident, but a police officer told the New York Post that Locklear was alert and cooperative with the deputies that attended the crash. She had not been charged over the incident, People.com reported.

Ava Sambora, Locklear’s daughter with Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora, had tweeted fans asking them to keep her mother in their prayers.

But the actress later updated supporters, letting them know that she’d been released from hospital and was feeling fine.

I’m home and good. Thank you for your concern!?

Locklear was famous in the 1990s for playing the vixen Amasnda Woodward in hit series Melrose Place, a role that earned her four Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress. She’d previously had roles in other popular series, including Dynasty, Fantasy Island and The Love Boat, and went on to star in Spin City opposite Michael J Fox.

But Locklear has been plagued by rumours of alcohol and prescription drug abuse – which she has denied – and has in the past been treated for anxiety and depression. In 2009 she pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge after driving under the influence of prescription medication.
