Maureen McCormick reprises her most famous role for TV dance-off

Maureen McCormick rose to fame as Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch and it seems she channeled her on-screen character for the first performance of the 23rd season of the United States’ version of Dancing with the Stars recently.

It was part of the show’s ‘TV Tributes’ theme, and while the performances included dances to the themes of The Walking Dead (paso doble), Game of Thrones (Viennese waltz), Bewitched (quickstep) and The Muppets (quickstep) it was Maureen’s performance that got everyone talking.

The spunky 60-year-old and her dancer partner, Artem Chigvintsev, quickstepped their way into the show using the theme song from The Brady Bunch.

Maureen and Artem looked to recreate the family sitcom that ran from the end of the 1960s until 1974, but it was the inclusion of Brady Bunch matriarch Carol Brady (82-year-old Florence Henderson) that really stole the show.

Wearing a dress reminiscent of her on-screen character, Florence stood with her hands on her hips, rolled her eyes and then repeated that famous line: “Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!” which kicked the whole routine off.

Wearing a ’70s-inspired jumpsuit and her hair up in a scarf, Maureen demonstrated some fancy footwork as she and Artem stepped their way around the dance floor.

Florence was said to have congratulated Maureen after her dance performance saying: “I’m so proud of you. We’ve been through a lot together.”

Do you enjoy dancing? Did you watch The Brady Bunch growing up? Who was your favourite character?
