Magnum, P.I. star John Hillerman dies at age 84

Hollywood is in mourning today following the news that one of its most loved actors has died.

John Hillerman, better known as Tom Selleck’s sidekick in the hit TV show Magnum, P.I has passed away. He was 84.

Page Six reports that a spokesperson broke the news on Thursday night, America time.

It is believed that he died at his home in Houston, Texas, but his cause of death is yet to be determined.

He was most known for playing caretaker Jonathan Quayle Higgins III on Magnum, P.I, but had a range of roles throughout his life.

Hillerman won an Emmy award in 1987 and was nominated for a further four.

You may even remember his character Higgins saying “Oh My God” a lot on the show. 

Fans of the star have taken to social media to pay their respects.

One person wrote: “Sad to hear actor John Hillerman has passed away. Magnum, P.I. It was required viewing in junior high and high school. Kinda need to watch a few episodes now.”

Another message read: “RIP John Hillerman. One classy guy.”

A third fan said: “RIP John Hillerman. Magnum P.I. was my favorite TV show during my childhood. I’ll always remember it.”
