Here’s how the news went down at the Lindo Wing, courtesy of Patrick Sawer from Telegraph.co.uk:
Cheering broke out just after 11am as word spread that Kensington Palace had announced the birth of a baby girl.
First through a notice on its website, then via a tweet two minutes later, the palace stated that the Duchess “was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.”
That was the signal for cries of “three cheers for the royal baby” to begin, followed by a lusty “hip hip hooray” from assembled well wishers and passers-by.
There is no word yet on the name but we will keep you updated here at Starts at 60.
