Ivanka Trump cannot believe how mean people are.
The first daughter appeared on Fox overnight and spoke about her surprise at the vitriol that has rained down on her since taking up her post at the White House as Special Advisor to the president.
While politics demands a thick-skinned approach, it appears Ms Trump is having a hard time understanding why people aren’t as thrilled with her new job as she is.
She told the hosts of Fox and Friends she didn’t expect the experience to be so “intense”.

“It is hard. And there is a level of viciousness that I was not expecting,” she said.
“I was not expecting the intensity of this experience, but this isn’t supposed to be easy. My father’s administration intends to be transformative, and we want to do big, bold things. We’re looking to change the status quo.”
She then went on to say: “So, I didn’t expect it to be easy. I think some of the distractions and some of the ferocity I was a little blind-sided by on a personal level.”
Ms Trump’s influence on her father courted plenty of speculation after he was sworn into office with talk about family favouritism rife across the media.
The Trumps found a loophole in the strict anti-nepotism laws that rule the US government by appointing the former fashion designer to a non-paid position instead.
