Fresh look or faux pas? Salma Hayek shocks fans with daring outfit

Mexican actress Salma Hayek is known for her gorgeous body and flowing dark hair, but her new look surprised everyone at Paris Fashion Week. 

The 51-year-old beauty arrived at the Altuzarra show wearing a shocking pink pantsuit that showed off her figure. While practically every inch of her body was covered thanks to the suit and a high neckline on her ruffled sheer blouse, there’s no escaping the draw of those curves with the right tailoring.

But it wasn’t the lurid pink ensemble that had everyone looking on in shock. It was Hayek’s new cropped hairdo, and the fact that she’d gone blonde.

For a while, everyone was shocked at the loss of Hayek’s usual long raven locks, but the Frida star soon set everyone right, revealing to her 4.7 million Instagram followers that the blonde ‘do was actually a wig applied by professionals.

In a series of Instagram pictures simply captioned “The process”, Hayek can be seen with her dark hair pinned back tightly, flawless makeup already applied.

Then it’s time for a few touch-ups as she dons the wig, already smiling coyly at the camera. The Fools Rush In star continues to snap selfies as her team does some last-minute checks on the wig’s placement, ensuring that Hayek’s natural hair is tucked well out of sight.

The last photo shows a behind-the-scenes shot of Hayek, ready for the event in her Legally Blonde-inspired outfit getting a look-in.

Hayek attended the Paris Fashion Week show with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
