Duchess of Cambridge’s sultry wedding perfume revealed

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge share a kiss on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge is used to sending shoppers into a frenzy over her outfits, but it seems that’s not the only thing fans want to imitate when it comes to the beloved royal.

Women have been rushing to buy Catherine’s wedding fragrance ever since Clarence House revealed the sweet and sultry scent she chose for her special day.

While many brides choose to go with a classic brand and perfume for their big day, Kate went in a different direction and chose a relatively unknown brand called Illuminum.

Specifically, Kate chose White Gardenia Petals, which comes in a simple square bottle topped with a matte cap.

The floral scent is described by Luxury Scent as “a fragrant as a vase of white flowers, quivering in the breeze by an open window … The top note of Lilly evokes a tropical seaside location, whilst the heart notes of White Gardenia, Muguet and Jasmine bring a trio of white flowers into play. Amber Wood underscores this light and capricious bouquet.”

While bottles of the royal scent have been flying off the shelves ever since news got out it was Kate’s favourite, not everyone is impressed with the scent.

The Canadian blogger behind the popular blog What Would Kate Do said the fragrance reminded her of “grandma’s perfume”.

“The smell was almost entirely gone in about an hour and a half which disappointed me. In all honesty, it reminded me too much of a grandma’s perfume… Dipped in sugar.”

While you can’t please everyone, the sweet floral fragrance seems to be a winner overall with sales skyrocketing thanks to Kate’s tick of approval.

No doubt it’s a scent the Duchess will treasure forever.
