Donald and Melania release first official Christmas portrait

Donald and Melaina have shared a snap of themselves getting into the Christmas spirit!

They’re one of the most talked about couples in the world and now US president Donald Trump and his wife Melania have posed for their official Christmas portrait.

The couple posed for the photograph in the Cross Hall of the White House, standing side by side between two lavishly decorated Christmas trees.

Donald opted for a smart tux, while Melania wore a stunning black cocktail dress and heels.

The first lady share the photo on her official Twitter page on Friday, saying: “Merry Christmas from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

“@POTUS [President of the United States & @FLOTUS [First Lady of the United States] are seen Tuesday, December 5, in their official 2017 Christmas portrait, in the Cross Hall of the White House in Washing, D.C.”

Fans of the couple were quick to share their Christmas messages with the Trumps.

One person wrote: “Best first family ever.”

Another wrote: “America loves you and thank you for everything you are doing for our wonderful fantastic fabulous nation.”

A third added: “Merry Christmas, Mr and Mrs Trump. May the New Year bring positive change for all.”

The portrait comes after Melania revealed this year’s Winter Wonderland theme for the White House.

Posting a video to social media, the First Lady revealed the myriad of Christmas trees and decorations that up to 25,000 people will view while they visit the White House during the festive season.

But despite the fancy decorations and festive cheer of the White House, it appears Melania wants to celebrate Christmas somewhere far away.

“I would spend my holidays on a deserted island, a tropical island, with my family,” the Daily Mail reported the first lady saying at an event last week.
