Prince William and Prince Harry looked dashing on the red carpet for the European premiere of Stars Wars: The Last Jedi, and it turns out they could have a very personal interest in the new film.

The royal duo were snapped meeting a line-up of stormtroopers, and the famous robot BB8 as they walked the red carpet in matching tuxedos.

The pair may be more familiar with the stormtroopers than they’re making out, too, with The Telegraph reporting that the princes have a cameo in the film. They’re reportedly among the group of Stormtroopers who reprimand Finn and DJ (a new character played by Benicio Del Toro), when they discover the two stars sneaking onto an Empire ship.

Since they’re disguised in stormtrooper costume, Prince William and Prince Harry might be hard to sport, but the brothers are reportedly much taller than the cast, which could be a giveaway.

The two royals were pictured at Pinewood Studios in 2016, when their secret movie cameo was revealed to the case, The Telegraph reported.

A source told The Daily Mail, The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set”.

“What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to ‘get suited’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.”

According to several reports, actors Tom Hardy and Gary Barlow are also in the scene.

It was British star John Boyega, who plays Finn (a former stormtrooper), who eventually confirmed that William and Harry make an appearance, The Telegraph reported, when he told BBC Radio 4 that he had “had it with secrets”.

“They came on set. They were there. I’m sick of hiding it. It think it was leaked, anyway,” he admitted.

The princes were special guests among an audience of 400 who turned up for the latest premiere in London. Among the stars appearing on the red carpet were Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, and Mark Hamill, famous for his Luke Skywalker role, which he reprises in the new movie..

Bond star Daniel Craig had the same secret cameo, hidden under a Sstormtrooper costume in 2015’s Stars Wars: The Force Awakens.

Carrie Fisher, who passed away in December 2016, was honoured at the Los Angeles premiere earlier this week. When writer and director Rian Johnson took to the stage to introduce the film, he took a moment to let everyone know that Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars series, wouldn’t be forgotten.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see William and Harry in action, if they can spot them. The new Star Wars movie hits cinemas on Thursday in Australia.
