Crocodile hunter to receive top Hollywood honour

It has been announced this morning that the legendary Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is to be honoured with one of Hollywood’s highest praises – a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Terri Irwin posted a video to Twitter showing the reaction of the family as the news came in.

Terri, along with son Robert, and daughter Bindi are shown outside, early in the morning jumping and squealing with joy as they are told that a star on the famous walk is to be placed in honour of their late husband and father’s work on the big screen. 

Since getting the joyful news, Bindi and Terri have tweeted their pride at the legacy left by Steve, and the impact he continues to make more than a decade after his death.

Terri shared with the world how excited she is that the star will ensure that Irwin’s wildlife conservation message will continue to be remembered. 

Fans also expressed their excitement that their hero is being honoured in such a big way. 

“WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!! Steve Irwin is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!” tweeted one fan.  

Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray in 2006 whilst filming a documentary, but his family continue to ensure his wildlife conservation legacy lives on.
