A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder after three people were found dead in a house in Perth in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Homicide Squad detectives confirmed on Monday morning the Ellenbrook resident faces charges for three counts of murder as a result of an investigation into the death of an eight-year-old boy, 15-year-old girl and their 48-year-old mother.

Police were called to a convenience store in the north-eastern suburb at around 1.30am on Sunday after a man presented there requesting police.

After attending the scene, officers continued investigations at a nearby home in Ellenbrook where they located a male and female deceased inside the residence and another woman in the backyard suffering from critical injuries.

The second woman was transported by ambulance to the Royal Perth Hospital where she was treated but died of her injuries. 

The 19-year-old man in question is set to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court today in relation to the charges.
