Who needs a handsome man or gorgeous woman on your arm when you’ve got fabulous grandparents?
Aussie actress Rebel Wilson proved that age is no barrier to cool when she invited her beloved ‘number one grandma’ and ‘number one grandad’ to the Sydney premiere of her new movie Pitch Perfect 3.
“We’re very excited – [we’re your] number one fans!” Wilson’s grandma made clear in the video the star posted to Instagram, on which she explained that her grandmother ditched her walker and her grandfather got out of hospital to make it to the red carpet event.
Wilson herself looked cute at the premiere in a knee-length red dress by US designer-to-the-stars Zac Posen, as she celebrated the third instalment of her hit movie series about an a capella singing group. The first Pitch Perfect, released in 2012, gets three-and-a-half stars on critic site iMDB.
But it hasn’t been an easy year for Wilson, who won a defamation battle against magazine giant Bauer after giving testimony for several days about how a series of critical stories in Bauer’s Australian magazine, including Woman’s Day and OK!, damaged her career by accusing her of lying about her family background, age and other personal details.
The 37-year-old actress was awarded $4.5 million – which she had pledged to give to charity – but Bauer is appealing the decision against it and the record compensation payment.
