Lisa Wilkinson posts envy-inducing snap from glam Hamilton Island
Anyone facing a mundane Saturday of doing chores in not-so-great weather could be forgiven for being green with jealousy at Lisa Wilkinson’s latest Instagram post.
The Today show host has posted a snap of herself looking glamorous as usual, at sunset on a deserted beach on gorgeous Hamilton Island in Queensland. She posted that she was at the holiday island in the Whitsundays for the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, a fancy yachting event.
While the regatta is no doubt fascinating for boaties, the Australian Financial Review cals it “one of the world’s most enjoyable regattas” because it has plenty of other delights, including a beautiful tropical setting and what the publication calls a “convivial post-sailing atmosphere”.
There sure are plenty of high-end activities to keep attendees entertained when away from the water, including numerous champagne lunches and a number dinners prepared by famous Aussie chefs such as Matt Moran, Matt Stone and Shannon Bennet.
The AFR reports that Prince Frederik of Denmark is expected to race in the regatta, having chartered a yacht from Hamilton Island’s owners, the Oately Family. There was no word, however, on whether Princess Mary would join him, with their children having just started school again this week after their summer holiday.
The glossy event marks an amazing recovery by the island that was hit by Cyclone Debbie just in March, as pictures posted by other attendees show.
