Johnny Ruffo hasn’t had the easiest year, but one young fan was keen to make sure TV star’s Christmas was a bit brighter.

And Johnny showed off the happy result on social media, clearly stoked to have received such a thoughtful gift – a super-cute teddy bear especially for people who aren’t feeling well, made by 13-year-old Campbell Remess.

Since he was nine, Remess has been making ‘comfort’ bears for children who have a serious illness or are suffering hardship.

He recently sent a teddy bear to Ruffo, who was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year, and  the former Home and Away star quickly jumped on social media to thank him.

“Just want to give a shoutout to campbell at @project365bycampbell for sending this awesome teddy to me,” Ruffo wrote.

Fans quickly rushed to Ruffo’s Instagram page to show their support.

One person wrote: “Aw, that’s so cute! Hope you’re doing well”, while another added “Some people are just so lovely”.

For the last four years, Remess has spent all his free time sewing teddy bears, after deciding that he wanted to give Christmas presents to children in hospital.

“I make bears for kids in hospital and people all around the world to make them happy,” Remess told ABC Radio Hobart

The Tasmanian schoolboy makes a bear every day and is now supported by a fundraising team called Project 365, although he started out spending his own pocket money on materials to sew the bears from.

The young entrepreneur received a ‘Young Wonder’ award on Sunday, as part of the CNN Heroes Special in New York City.

In August, Ruffo revealed to fans that he underwent emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour, after suffering what he thought was a bad migraine.

The 29-year-old, later shocked fans by revealing he actually had brain cancer.

“So I have the news. It was a bit of a shock and I’ve got an interesting journey ahead and a bit of a battle,” he wrote.

The singer has been updating his fans throughout his battle, letting them know the ups and down of what it’s like to live with cancer.

Do you think this is a sweet gesture? Have you been following Ruffo’s journey?
