Heartbreaking note reveals Jim Carrey’s ex’s anguish at his hands

As the family of Cathriona White launch ahead with a wrongful death suit against actor and comedian Jim Carrey, a note written by the 30-year-old Irish makeup artist has revealed the anguish she suffered as a result of her relationship with Carrey.

The note was written two years before the 30-year-old took her own life, and blamed Carrey for introducing her to drugs and sexually transmitted infections.

The Daily Mail reported that the note was discovered by lawyers working for White’s family on her iPad, but it is not known whether she actually sent it to Carrey.

She and Carrey had broken up after she told him that she had tested positive for herpes, a disease which he claims he didn’t have. The family claim that Carrey provided White with the pills she used to kill herself, which were obtained under a false name.

Carrey’s defence is that White’s family’s attempts to sue him is extortion, as he claims he settled with White for an undisclosed sum in 2013 over the STI claims. He also claims that White was upset about a text message from her mother when she died. 

In the note, White explained that she wanted Carrey to apologise, and also to be careful with other women. 

“You have not thought about the stigma I have to live with for the rest of my life, you have not apologized or once asked is there something you can do to make it better or even felt bad for it,” she wrote. 

“Or even ask me how I’m feeling about it. Instead you did a whole lot of screaming and turned it around on me.”

She went on to tell him that the diagnosis’ had ruined her life. 

“This is what I want, you gave me HSV and HPV, I want you to apologize for it because you care enough to. I want you to understand that however little a thing seems to you, it ruins a girl’s life.

“I want you to take care when you are with other girls and pay attention to your body your actions effect people. I don’t want to be disrespected like you have been doing.

“Before you, I might not have had very much but I had respect, I was a happy person. I loved life, I was confident and I felt good in my skin and was proud of most decisions I made, I met you, you introduced me to cocaine, prostitutes, mental abuse and disease. You did good things for me but being with you broke me down as a person Jim. I was promise Jekyll and instead I got Hyde.”

The couple began dating in 2012, and despite the earlier legal battle, got back together in 2015 before the relationship was cut short by White’s death.
