Children can say some pretty honest things to older generations, often innocently delivering very blunt insults out of nowhere. Luckily, Carrie Bickmore saw the funny side when she found herself in that situation recently.

The TV star, 37, has now revealed her shock after her three-year-old daughter Evie asked about the ‘stripes’ on her forehead.

The Project host recounted the hilarious exchange she had with her daughter in an Instagram post on Thursday. Sharing a selfie of herself with her forehead creased up, Carrie explained how Evie had alerted her to the lines.

Explaining to Evie that they were wrinkles because “mummy is old”, Carrie – who is expecting her third child – said her daughter had told her she was “young and pretty like a stripy tiger”.

“My daughter certainly knows how to suck up after a sledge,” she wrote.

Another added: “Hahaha my daughter asked me the same question recently.” And a third wrote: “You look amazing Carrie. Love how u embrace natural beauty.”

It comes after the star gave an emotional interview for ABC show Anh’s Brush with Fame, which aired earlier this month, where she opened up about her former husband’s tragic death after a long battle with brain cancer – admitting their son now reminds her of him every day.

He was first diagnosed at 25 – when Carrie was just 22 – after suffering a seizure at home and the pair tied the knot three years later, before welcoming son Oliver in 2007.

Greg sadly lost his battle with brain cancer in December 2010 which inspired the Channel Ten star to set up her charity Beanies 4 Brain Cancer in his memory, and she’s revealed they’ve raised $4.2million since she announced the campaign during an emotional speech at the 2015 Logie Awards.

Carrie found love again with TV producer Chris Walker and they welcomed daughter Evie together in 2015, as well as expecting another baby in just a few months time.
