Camilla steals the show in eye-catching periwinkle coat

The future King and Queen of England have enjoyed their final day in Canada, meeting with prime minister Justine Trudeau and celebrating the country’s 150th birthday.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall finished their official three-day tour with a lavish ceremony on Parliament Hill and greeted thousands of royal watchers who came out to see them.

Camilla was easy to spot in the crowd, sporting a stunning light-blue coat and elaborate white feathered hat.

She also wore her signature pearl necklace and nude heels.

Charles was dapper in a grey suit with a modern light-pink shirt underneath.

Charles spoke at the event and thanked the Canadian Governor-General David Johnston, who is retiring.

“I would like to say a special thank you on your behalf to the Governor General for his seven years of impeccable service as Her Majesty’s representative here in Canada,” Charles told thousands of revellers at Canada Day celebrations.

“He has earned great respect and gratitude as a modern nation-builder, whose commitment to the youth of Canada — and to reconciliation — is exemplary.”

Charles and Camilla have packed in plenty of activities over their three days in the Commonwealth state.

They met with locals to learn about the country’s pre-settlement history, before attending a service for Canadian soldiers killed in the Afghanistan war.

The pair will soon head home to enjoy the rest of the English summer.
