Beautiful online campaign is taking the world by storm

There are lots of good causes out there, but this campaign has captured the attention of the whole world and sparked millions of selfies all in the name of a positive message.

The hashtag #ItsOkToTalk has spread like wildfire across the internet in the past few days and it’s all in the name of letting men know it’s ok to talk about their feelings.

The whole thing started when UK rugby player Luke Ambler posted a selfie encouraging his friends and teammates to start opening up about their feelings and thoughts instead of bottling it up like many men tend to do – and how many of you know a man who does that?

According to the stats, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 is suicide.

In 2014, 4623 men took their own life. That’s 12 men every day, 1 man every two hours, and sadly 41 per cent of men who contemplated suicide, felt they couldn’t talk about their feelings.

The campaign has attracted everyone from celebrities to ‘normal’ people who are all jumping on board and posting their own selfies showing the A-OK sign with their hands and writing #ItsOkToTalk.

The whole point is to encourage men to talk to their friends, mothers, wives and partners about their thoughts and emotions and aims to drastically reduce the amount of male suicides around the world.

So if you have a man or boy in your life who you’d like to let know it’s ok to talk and open up, share this article!

If you’re feeling particularly bold you can even post your own selfie in the comments!

Do you know a man who keeps his feelings bottled up? Do you think this is an important message?
