The speech that might change the world today

barack

Today marks the 13th anniversary of the day that changed our modern world – September 11, 2001. And now, Barack Obama is set to deliver one of the most important speeches of his career.

Later today we will hear Barack’s exact words but insiders are positive he will be declaring America goes to war against ISIS, the Islamic State militant group. It won’t just be America who goes to war…we will be expected to assist as well. Will this be World War III? Time will tell but one thing for certain is that their will be blood shed and there will be lives lost as we have seen in the war against terror – Australia itself has lost 41 soldiers. Can we afford to lose more? What does this mean for our country and are we safe? Obama and other world leaders think that if we go to war against these extremists, it is the only way to gain control again over our safety. But is it really?

The move to train and arm Syrian rebels to fight ISIS will be controversial and it’s alleged that his fellow congress are struggling to support it. In the past Obama has avoided starting new wars so will this leap of faith be worth it?

In Australia, Tony Abbott has already address his fears that Australians who have joined groups overseas could come back and attack, though there is no current threat.

Obama’s latest address will follow the airstrikes in Iraq. He has been called a reluctant leader and hesitant in a crisis but is this the way to do so?

What do you think? Do you think this is the response and action America and we need to take to prevent more beheadings and threats? Is throwing money and men at a problem the way to solve it? And should Australia get involved at all?
